Queensbridge Celebrates Ron Artest

Ron Artest is enjoying a triumphant return to his roots in Queensbridge, NY. He performed an outdoor concert after a ceremony proclaiming July 15 as Ron Artest Day in Queens. He took time to endorse Democratic congressional candidate Reshma Saujani who is also endorsed by Twitter founder Jack Dorsey & singer John Legend.
Then New York's newest champ took his talents to street ball games in the Bronx & Manhattan. He played for the team called Most Hated and scored 10 points with 6 rebounds while staying on the court for all the action.
"It was fun," Artest said. "It's always like this. I play here every year. It just keeps me on my toes and helps me understand what I have to do next year so I can have a good season."
Artest plans to play more streetball throughout the summer, as well as playing in games with his Queensbridge team at Nike Pro City.
Only thing changed about Ron Artest is that he's now a champion.
