The Lakers have been to 3 straight finals, winning the last 2. Bryant, Artest, Gasol & Odom are under contract for the next 2 years. Free agent Fisher will likely stay with the Lakers for minimal money.
Sasha Vujacic has another year left on his deal while Luke Walton has 3 more. LA's only immediate roster concerns stem from backup guards Shannon Brown & Jordan Farmar needing new contracts. Both players may leave for more playing time & money.
The Lakers' biggest question is whether Phil Jackson will want to return as coach & how much money he'll want. Owner Jerry Buss may want Jackson to take a pay cut which seems kinda cold since Jackson's lady is Baby Buss. Jackson might not even want to coach anymore. Since championships seem to revolve around Jackson, his decision this summer is far more interesting than that Akron dude.
Even so, the Lakers have so much talent that Snoop Dogg could coach them to another ring, especially if Doc steps down in Boston. Maybe hiring Snoop wouldn't be a bad idea. He's got star power for LA, knows the game, is good with the media and has the vocabulary to tell Chris Rock to shut up in inspiring ways.
Coach Snoop's road trips would be heaven for players, fans and media. Bass bumping the speakers throughout home games. Laker girls with badonkadonks. Vic the Brick all up on the team plane with groupies. Snoop releasing Dr. Dre produced Ron Artest jams. Jeanie Buss all up on Snoo-
We'll see what 2010-11 brings for LA. This summer, Laker Nation is set to party with their future looking bright. Kobe, Ron Ron, Pau and maybe Phil will have 3peat on the brain come October. For now, Laker eyes have champagne burns.
