The third-ranking Republican in the U.S. House says he'll decide after Jan. 1 whether to run for president.
Indiana Rep. Mike Pence said Monday he and his family are "determined to take the next few months and pray about" a possible White House run.
Pence won a sixth congressional term this month and then announced he would step down from his position as the House Republican conference chairman. The decision sparked talk that Pence might run for higher office.
His comments Monday came after a speech to the Detroit Economic Club in suburban Birmingham.
Pence laid out his economic vision in the address, saying the U.S. needs a flat tax, a spending limit amendment to the Constitution and other reforms to put the country's "fiscal house in order."You and your family pray about it Mike, my family will pray you run.
And if he doesn't run he would be an ideal VP pick. Maybe for that wonder from Wasilla.
