I missed out on this important news this week but better late than never right.
Kylie Minogue, Pop Princess, icon and national treasure, is the 2007 recipient of the prestigious annual Music Industry Trusts' Award, the first woman in the event's 16 year history to receive the honour. Previous recipients include Elton John and Bernie Taupin, Sir George Martin, Michael Parkinson, John Barry and Peter Gabriel. The Award will be presented to Kylie on the evening of 29 October at London's Grosvenor House in the presence of over 1200 guests from the UK's music and entertainment industry.
Here's what Kylie had to say about the award:
"It is an incredible honour to be the recipient of this year's Music Industry Trust's Award and I am truly thrilled to be recognized in this way," Kylie responded. "As well as being a fantastic evening, this award ceremony also raises much needed funds for The Brit Trust and Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy and it is a pleasure for me to be involved."
As an extra treat for all of you Kylie fans, I've added "White Diamond":
