Katherine McPhee is breaking into acting with a couple of upcoming movie roles. A month ago Katherine signed on for a starring role in an independent film, a dark romantic comedy. She will start shooting in New York this autumn. Adam Sandler was apparently impressed by her as she scored a role in an upcoming comedy about a sorority with him.
Sandler’s Happy Madison production company and Columbia pictures are heading up the as-yet-untitled project, reports E! Online. Katherine will play a pregnant hippie college student, who is a member of the lamest sorority on campus. The rest of the cast includes: Kat Dennings (“40-Year-Old Virgin”), Anna Faris (“Waiting”), Rumer Willis (yes, the daughter of Bruce Willis), Dana Goodman (“Deuce Bigalow 2”), and Emma Stone (“Superbad”). Kat has high hopes for her acting career and has deliberately chosen to start off with something that many would not expect from her, she reveals. Her acting resume to date includes cameos on TV’s “Ugly Betty” and a webisode of YouTube’s lonelygirl15, according to E! Online.
Is it me or does it seem that Kat is more into acting lately than singing?
